The 86th Academy Awards are set to kick off on Sunday evening in Los Angeles with Gravity, 12 Years A Slave and Wolf of Wall Street all tipped for success. When it comes to the most nominations and wins by an individual at the Oscars, nobody comes close to Walt Disney.
Over the course of his life, he was nominated an incredible 59 times and took home 26 awards, including four honorary Oscars. Cedric Gibbons comes second, having won 11 times while Dennis Muren is the third most successful individual at the Academy Awards with 9 wins.
