Game of Thrones finishes up its final season next Sunday, and fans are on the edge of their seats trying to figure out what twists and turns await their favorite characters.
GoT features a significant amount of death, and it has only gotten deadlier as the seasons have continued. Morning Consult polled U.S. fans about who they anticipate dying before the final episode. About 36 percent of fans anticipate Cersei Lannister dying in the final season. A little over a third saw the Night King, making his final exit before the curtains close on the show. Both Jon Snow and Arya Stark, the show’s sweethearts, were some of the least likely characters to die, according to fans. Just under a fifth of fans cynically saw Jon Snow dying, that chance for Arya Stark was even less.
The HBO show, which has turned into a phenom, is based off George R.R. Martin’s series of fictional fiefdoms that vie for control of the kingdom of Westeros, which, as the seasons continue, is also under siege by competing kingdoms in the North and East. The fantasy has captivated viewers and won the most Emmy’s of any TV show in 2018. Just under half of fans said they watch the show when it airs live on television, a rarity in the era of streaming videos and binging shows.
