How Americans Are Trying To Curb Their Carbon Emissions
Carbon Footprint
Saint Leo University found that in a study of around 1,000 adults in the United States, many of the main carbon reducing methods people cited involved home improvements. Around 45 percent of respondents chose to purchase higher efficiency appliances and about 25 percent added insulation to their homes as a way to reduce the amount of carbon they produced.
Carl pooling or using mass transit were other common strategies for curbing carbon emissions. Among the least cited methods for reducing an individual’s carbon footprint include: purchasing a pricey electric car, paying higher taxes, and reducing or completely not eating certain food products.
