Desire To Migrate Higher Under Trump
Migration
Even though attention is firmly focused on the people President Trump wants to prevent getting into the United States, record numbers of Americans now want to get out. That's according to a new Gallup poll which shows that Americans' desire to migrate has increased under Trump, particularly among women.
Under President Bush, 10 percent of men and 11 percent of women said they would like to permanently move to another country if they had the chance and the share was 10 percent for both sexes under President Obama. Under Trump, however, the share of men wanting to leave the U.S. has increased to 13 percent while for women, it is notably higher at 13 percent.
