The annual Brand Finance rankings reported Tata Group more than maintaining its number one position, with a brand value that amounts to more than Airtel (ranked second) and Infosys (ranked third) combined. The list of brands is compiled by calculating values of brand strength, royalty rate, revenues and net present values.

Founded about 150 years ago and headquartered in Mumbai, the conglomerate is successful across several industries and comprises over 100 independent operating companies. With a global presence, Tata’s acquisition of European steel major Corus is known to be one of the biggest in Indian corporate history.
