Share of college students who think campus gun laws are important U.S. 2023, by party
According to a survey conducted in 2023, 81 percent of current and prospective college students in the United States agreed that policies regarding guns on campus were at least somewhat important in their decisions to enroll or stay enrolled in a particular college. In that same year, 34 percent also said that campus gun policies were extremely important to their college enrollment decisions. However, students who identified as Democrats were more likely to express that campus gun policies were extremely important to them, at 41 percent. In comparison, only 26 percent of Republican students shared this belief.
