Opinion on importance of language for national identity in Europe and the U.S. 2020

In the United States, United Kingdom, France, and Germany, a clear majority were of the opinion that speaking the country's dominant language was somewhat or very important in order to be regarded as truly British, American, French, or German in 2020. This was slightly more prevalent in France and Germany, where over 90 percent of the respondents shared this opinion, than in the U.S. and the UK.
