As of 2024, the number of countries to publish National Action Plans (NAPs) stood at 19. Among the countries with an active National Action Plan, Poland was one of the earliest to adopt one back in 2017. Some of the most recent countries to publish a NAP include Peru and Pakistan, each publishing in 2021.
NAPs are policy documents used by local governments to express the importance of outlined topics and the actions they will adopt to achieve commitments on an international or regional basis. As of 2023, over 20 additional countries are currently in the process of developing a NAP.

The dates provided are the dates on which individual states officially published their National Action Plan (NAP). Prior to these dates, a lengthy development process had taken place spanning years for many of the NAP participants.
