Business models used by streaming services and video platforms worldwide 2022
A survey of C-level executives from media companies around the world found that 28 percent of streaming services and video platforms relied on a hybrid business model as their primary revenue source, which means they make use of advertising revenue and some other forms of revenue. Just under a quarter of streaming services and video platforms relied on advertising revenue in order to operate, while 20 percent of such services relied solely on paid subscriptions.
