UEFA Women's Euro: types of online harassment during the group phase 2022
According to a 2022 report conducted in Europe, the majority of online abuse across social media that was aimed at players, coaches, and officials in relation to the UEFA Women's EURO was generalized abuse. Overall, 20 percent of abusive social media posts contained sexist content, and six percent featured racist content. Furthermore, four percent of abuse on social media during the group phase of the tournament contained homophobic abuse.
