U.S. adults who have a favorable impression of Facebook 2022, by age group
A May 2022 survey of online adults in the United States found that despite several controversies, Facebook was still generally regarded favorably across most age groups. Overall, 24 percent of 18 to 34 year old and 25 percent of 35 to 44 year old respondents stated that their opinion of Facebook was very favorable. For the 45 to 64 year olds, this decreased to 18 percent and for the age group 65 and older it decreased further to 13 percent. However, 38 percent of respondents in the 65 and older age group stated that their opinion of Facebook was somewhat favorable. In late October 2021, Facebook restructured and rebranded itself as Meta while announcing a strategic shift towards the metaverse, a virtual reality project.
