In 2023, Malaysia spent around 3.92 billion U.S. dollars on military expenditure, an increase from 3.67 billion U.S. dollars the year before. Malaysia's military expenditure had been decreasing since 2015, when the government spent around 4.5 billion U.S. dollars on military spending.
