The Finnish parliament (Eduskunta) consists of 200 representatives that are elected proportionally by ballot. Finland is divided into 13 electoral districts and the number of representatives are proportional, dependent on the amount of population in each district. Åland, as an autonumous region, makes and exception in that it always elects one representative. The electoral period for the Finnish parliament is four years.
