FPT Corporation - statistics & facts
Established in 1988, FPT Corporation, also known as Corporation for Financing and Promoting Technology, is among Vietnam’s largest telecommunications and technology company. Having one of the highest market capitalization values in the Vietnamese stock market, FPT has also been among the leading private enterprises in the country. Known as one of the technology leaders in Vietnam, FPT has been behind some of the most well-known digital services and products used by Vietnamese consumers.
FPT has been widely known among Vietnamese people as an internet, telecommunications, and digital media service provider, such as the company behind the most-read online newspaper and most subscribed streaming service in the country. Meanwhile, the technology segment was the largest revenue generator of the group. Revenue from the technology business alone surpassed the combined revenue from the telecommunication and education sector in 2021. On the other hand, the technology business of FPT relies heavily on foreign clientele, as most of the income from this segment came from the global IT services of its subsidiary, FPT Software, one of the biggest software companies in Vietnam.
As Vietnam’s technology leader, FPT also founded Vietnam’s first private university, which offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business and information technology on five campuses across the country. Since establishing this university in 2006, the education segment of FPT has expanded to more than just higher education. One can access FPT’s education system as early as in FPT’s primary school.
