BNPL (Buy Now, Pay Later)

This report aims to provide a comparative overview on how big buy now, pay later is in the world. What is its market share in the different countries in Europe? Which pure play brands do merchants offer? Are the user demographics in India different from those in the UK?

The main focus of the report is on metrices that are commonly used within the payments industry. Note, however, that due to the unregulated state of BNPL in many countries, data might not be readily available for all countries or even comparable. The metrices are as follows:

• Adoption and/or penetration;
• The biggest brands;
• User count and/or user demographics;
• Value of transactions.

The figures provided have varying levels of granularity, as figures stem from different sources. Oftentimes, these are domestic surveys. There is no global database or international approach to cover the BNPL market.
