Women in tech

Tech gender inequality is a pressing issue that has far-reaching societal,economic, and cultural consequences. This report takes a deep dive intothe topic of gender disparity in the technology industry and explores the issue along the following four aspects:

• Status quo of tech gender inequality
• Root causes of the tech gender imbalance
• Problems (e.g. skill shortage) stemming from tech gender inequality
• Efforts to boost female participation in tech (e.g. equal pay & visibility)

By presenting the tech gender problem in its multifacetedness, thisreport hopes to foster a greater understanding of the current dilemmaand, more importantly, encourage much-needed discussions on how toimprove the situation. Only with sustained efforts from not only women,but the entire tech industry and society at large, can we approximate totech gender equality. ​
