Primary and secondary education in Italy

This report presents statistics and facts about primary and secondary education in Italy. The first chapter offers an overview about the Italian school system and the education levels achieved in the country, compared with other European states. Thereafter, the second one explores Italians' educational attainment and results. Two sections extensively illustrate enrollments at primary and secondary schools. In particular, the fourth chapter describes the three different education paths that high school students can choose: general high school, technical high school, or vocational school. The following section sheds light on the problem of Italian teachers' low salaries and high job insecurity. Finally, the report concludes with a focus on public investments on education.
