Statistics report with remittance inflow estimates to Mexico
Migrants sending money back home to Mexico is an important part of the country's economy. How big are these cross-border payments, and how are they done?
This report provides an overview of the incoming remittance flows with Mexico as their destination. How much does this country rely on remittances? How many of such money transfers are initiated with cash or through digital means? And what type of companies and brands are used?
The report aims to provide both a general overview as well as provide insights on a specific remittance corridor, namely the United States to Mexico corridor. This particular remittance is listed as the biggest in the world. Data gaps were observed for other corridors with Mexico, such as Canada, Spain, Germany, Chile, the United Kingdom, Bolivia, Australia, Switzerland, and Italy.
Note that remittances are a relatively undocumented topic as of 2024, due to tracking issues or a general lack of reporting. All figures are therefore estimates. There are also no figures yet available on high frequency flows (e.g. monthly data), or the different types of remittance flows, such as unregulated (cash) flows.
We provide information on industries, companies, consumers, trends, countries, and politics, covering the latest and most important issues in a condensed format.
