Social security in Germany

In January 2023, Germany changed the way social security payments were structured. The new minimum security payment is called Bürgergeld (citizen's benefit), which was formerly known as Hartz IV. The report provides an overview of these benefits, the way in which Bürgergeld has changed from Hartz IV, and how many people receive them. Also included are figures on unemployment and the labor market.
