This report aims to outline the development of the Premier League and its' financial situation in regards to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). Since the outbreak of the virus and the start of the pandemic, countries around the globe have implemented restrictions to contain it. Public gatherings, such as in major sports, have been a major cause for concern and with the absence of stadium attendances and postponements, revenues decreased.
The report looks at the financial developments of the Premier League, prior to and during the pandemic, opinions and measures taken in regards to public health risks as well as the consequences of COVID-19 on professional sports, to provide an overall understanding of the impact the virus had on one of the most successful professional sports leagues worldwide.
