This statistic shows the results of a survey on respondents' preferred type of shop for buying groceries in Indonesia in 2018, broken down by age group. During the survey period, supermarkets were the preferred outlet to buy groceries for 41 percent of respondents aged 36 years and above, and 40 percent of respondents between 18 to 35 years old. The majority of respondents below the age of 18 years, 41 percent, preferred to purchase their grocery items from minimarkets.
