From 2016 to 2023, the total number of students enrolled in higher education in Belgium increased year on year. In the academic year of 2016/'17, there were almost 237,000 students enrolled in higher education, whereas in the year 2022/'23, the number of students enrolled in higher education in Belgium increased to almost 279,000.

Professionally oriented bachelor courses

Transition program

A diploma contract is a contract entered into by an institutional board with a student who enrols with the intention of achieving a course degree or diploma, or a student who enrols for a transition or preparation program. In addition, a student can also enrol with a credit or exam contract.
