Online auction sales of Christie's grew by roughly 1.7 percent in 2023 over the previous year. After experiencing a sharp increase in the first two years of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, peaking at 445 million U.S. dollars in 2021, the company's online-only sales amounted to 369 million U.S. dollars in 2023. This was the second-highest result reported by the auction house over the period considered. Meanwhile, total sales of Christie's worldwide experienced a 26 percent annual decline in 2023.
