In 2022, a total of 3,580 cases of malaria were reported in Honduras. This represents an increase of around 116 percent compared to the 1,657 cases registered the previous year. The number of malaria patients in the Central American country decreased during the analyzed period, going from 9,700 in 2010 to 3,580 infections during the last year depicted. Honduras' neighboring country, Nicaragua, reported a decrease in the number of cases of the disease in 2022.
