Belgian employees had an average contract of about 85 percent of a full-time, meaning that in a hypothetical 40 hour workweek the employees would work about 34 hours. The average size of employment contracts is the highest in Flanders, Belgium's Dutch-speaking region in the north, with 87.4%. In contrast, the average size of employment contracts in the French-speaking Walloon region in the south was 81.5%.
