Share of local authority collected waste sent to landfills in England 2010-2018

The statistic displays the regional share of Local Authority collected waste sent to landfills in England from 2010/11 to 2017/18. It clearly shows that the share of waste sent to landfills has been declining steadily in all regions during this period.
In the 2010/11 year, Local Authorities in the North West sent the highest percentage of waste sent to landfills, at 55.5 percent. By 2017/18 however, this share had fallen to 18.9 percent.
