The number of malaria cases in Nicaragua has been fluctuating in recent years. In 2022, the country reported around 16,158 cases, a decrease compared to the previous year. The highest figure recorded during the period analyzed was reported in 2020, with 31,700 malaria cases. Moreover, the country accounted for four percent of all malaria cases in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2022.
