This statistic illustrates the share the of merger and acquisition deals involving Germany between 1991 and 2022, by origin of involved enterprises. Between 1991 and 2022, the share of domestic deals has only twice accounted for more than half of the total deal volume. As of 2022, inbound activity accounted for 40 percent of M&A deals involving German companies.
