Nearly 56.6 thousand construction businesses operated in Ukraine in 2021. Over the observed period, their number was the highest in 2010, when over 75.2 such firms were recorded. The sector lost almost 20 thousand entities by 2012, when the number dropped down to around 50.8 thousand.

The study employed the NACE industry code F, which stands for construction activities.
The source specified the following information: "Excluding data on budget organizations, and 2014-2020 the temporarily occupied territories of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and a part of temporarily occupied territories in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions."
