CEPI wood consumption in Europe 1991-2022, by type
Confederation of European Paper Industries' (CEPI) countries consumed 108 million cubic meters of softwood in 2022. This was considerably more than the amount of hardwood consumed by CEPI countries in 2022. Consumption of softwood, such as pine and spruce, was consistently higher than the consumption of hardwood like oak and beech over the past three decades.
