The acquisition of Mannesmann AG by Vodafone Air Touch PLC in 1999 was the largest M&A cross-border deal since January 1985, with transaction value amounting to 202.8 billion U.S. dollars. this acquisition was not only the largest cross-border deal ever but also topped the list for M&A in general.
