GSK Pharmaceuticals' CSR expenditure in India 2020 by project

GSK Pharmaceuticals Limited in India in fiscal year 2020 spent over 115 million Indian rupees for corporate social responsibility projects. GSK spent the highest amount on partnerships to eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis or elephant's foot with over 408 million Indian rupees during that time period.

As a result, it is becoming increasingly important for the company to engage its stakeholders and work together with them to understand their views on various environmental and socio-economic issues whilst incorporating these concerns into the company’s strategic decision-making process. Hence, companies today, are being called upon to address some of the country’s most pressing and challenging problems to boost economic development. Some of these issues include unemployment, illiteracy, and child-labor.

GSK and Environmental commitments

India has one of the world’s largest emission volumes of carbon dioxide. The main source of this is coal, which accounts for seven percent of global emissions. One of GSKs commitments has been geared towards reducing its environmental impact and cutting green-house gases. Further, GSK has committed to minimizing its operational carbon emissions, as well as total water use by over half until 2025.
