As of February 2024, the soccer club CF América was the most valuable soccer team in Mexico’s first division 'Liga MX', with a market value of approximately 96.9 million euros. CF Monterrey, worth roughly 91.5 million euros, ranked second.
Leading goal-scorers of the Liga MX
A season in Liga MX is composed of two competitions called the Apertura and Clausura championships. During the 2022/23 season, CF Pachuca's Nicolás Alejandro Ibáñez was the top-scorer of the Apertura championship with 11 goals. Meanwhile, CF América's Henry Josué Martín scored 14 goals in the second leg of the season, which was enough to secure him the award for top-scorer of the Clausura championship.
Soccer fans in Mexico
In a 2022 survey, it was found that approximately 58 percent of Mexico’s population were interested in soccer. During the same survey, 19.4 percent of participants said that their favorite team in Mexico's top-flight soccer league was Deportivo Guadalajara, which made it the country's most-popular soccer club. CF América proved to be the second most-popular soccer team in Mexico, with 19 percent of respondents claiming it as their favorite.
