As of April 2019, there were already approximately 314 wildfires of this size recorded in France. This is significantly higher than the mean average. Wildfires of this size in the United Kingdom are not that common an occurrence, with the 2008 to 2018 average being 17. However, as of April 1st 2019, the number of wildfires of 25 hectares or more was already 37.
