In 2023, the number of cornea transplants performed in Brazil amounted to 12,968 procedures, up from around 13,979 transplants completed a year earlier and the most reported in the period analyzed. Compared to 2020, cornea interventions increased by about128 percent in Brazil. Moreover, over 20 thousand people were waiting for a cornea transplant in the South American country in 2021.
