Retail channel use in the UK 2018, by age
This statistic shows the percentage of retail channels consumers in the United Kingdom (UK) used as of June 2018. Online-only retail shopping was most popular with consumers over the age of 65 with 12.5 percent of them using online channels. Young people between the ages 18-24 had the lowest share when it came to in-store only retail shopping at 23.47 percent. The majority of consumers were found to prefer using both channel options with the exception of people over the age of 65, whose primary retail channel remained in-store only at around 50 percent.
