The average annual cost for the India Premier League's broadcasting rights stood at over 23 billion rupees each for digital and television in India between 2023 and 2027. This was a phenomenal increase from just over 82 billion rupees between 2009 and 2017. Start India Private Limited, along with its OTT platform Disney Hotstar was awarded the contract for broadcasting the popular cricket league in India for 2017 to 2022.
