An estimated 281,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO₂e) were produced in the first two months of the Israel-Hamas war, which began on October 7, 2023. Around 90 percent of emissions stemmed from aircraft missions, with U.S. cargo flights delivering military supplies to Israel producing an estimated 133,650 tCO₂e. Emissions generated by Israeli artillery and bombs amounted to roughly 20,000 tCO₂e, while Hamas rockets fired into Israel during this period generated 713 tCO₂e.
