Smartphones: data flat rate cost in Europe 2019

This statistic shows the monthly cost of unlimited mobile data flat rates for smartphones in selected countries in Europe as of March 2019. According to data provided by Verivox, eight out of the ten countries under consideration had true unlimited flat rates for mobile internet access, whereas the two remaining ones, Poland and Spain, only had options with an upper limit for monthly mobile data usage. Smartphone users in Austria had to pay the most for access to an unlimited data flat rate, at roughly 72 euros per month. Flat rates were cheapest in Poland, the United Kingdom (UK) and the Netherlands.

The source adds the following information: "The analysis includes the cheapest unlimited smartphone flat rates offered by providers in each country. Both prepaid and monthly subscription plans were taken into consideration. The analysis includes offers from all providers in 10 European countries. Data was sourced from the websites of these providers. Promotional offers, online discounts, combination offers and discounts as well as one-time fees were not considered. If possible, the analysis chose SIM-only tariffs, i.e. those not including the purchase of a new mobile device. In case there was no true unlimited data flat rate available in a country, the option with the biggest available data package was chosen - roaming restrictions not considered."
