Podcast listening in Finland 2020, by type of podcast

According to a survey from 2020, the most popular podcast genre among Finns was entertainment. That year, nearly 50 percent of the respondents said that they listen to entertainment podcasts, followed by 35 percent listening to podcasts related to news and current affairs. Meanwhile, eight percent of the respondents listened to podcasts focusing on pets and animals.

Podcasts are digital audio or video files made available online for users to download and listen to. In 2018, 51 percent of Finns had listened to podcasts within the last year.
