In April 2023, there were a total of 7.5 million people waiting for elective treatment. Of these, 4.3 million have been waiting for less than 18 weeks. This equates to 58.3 percent, much lower than the NHS standard of 92 percent. This statistic displays the number and percentage of patients waiting for elective (non-urgent) treatment within 18 weeks in England from August 2007 to April 2023.
