This graph displays the solid fuels production in the European Union in 2016, by country, in million metric tons of oil equivalent. Poland was by the biggest producer of solid fuels energy, at 52.31 Mtoe. This was followed by Germany, with the remaining countries producing significantly less.

The source adds the following definition "SOLID FOSSIL FUELS: HARD COAL, LIGNITE, PEAT AND PRODUCTS, OIL SHALE AND OIL SANDS Quantities of fuels extracted or produced, calculated after any operation for removal of inert matter. In general, production includes the quantities consumed by the producer during the production as well as any quantities supplied to other on-site producers of energy for transformation or other uses."
