This statistic displays the results of a survey regarding the public opinion on the engagement of MPs in addressing issues and being involved in the development of their constituency following the 2014 general elections as of February 2019. In 2019, 59 percent of the respondents stated that they believed that the Members of Parliament failed in developing their constituency, down from 66 percent in 2016.

Note: The original survey question was phrased as follows: "Has your Member of Parliament (MP) engaged in addressing issues and development of the constituency over the last 5 years?".
The survey is in reference to the government formed after the 2014 general elections, which is the 16th Lok Sabha. The legislative term is for a five year duration. The elections are scheduled to be held in 2019.
*For the year 2019, the share of results was obtained from the participation of 7,800 of the 65,000 people who responded to this particular poll.
