Between 2021 and 2022, about 9.5 percent of elderly individuals in Italy experienced depression symptoms. According to the data, Umbria was the region with the largest share of population aged 65 years and older declaring to having suffered from depression symptoms during the two weeks preceding the interview, amounting to 16.7 percent.
