European oil consumption declined to 26 exajoules in 2018 after peaking at 31 exajoules in 2005. Between 2025 and 2050, figures are forecasted to decline in all scenarios. In 2050, oil consumption in Europe is expected to reach two exajoules in the net zero scenario and 12 exajoules in the business-as-usual scenario.
