Formula One is a motorsport discipline sanctioned by the FIA and owned by Formula One group. Over recent years, it has taken on a global dimension and is, along with the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cup, one of the most publicized sporting events worldwide. In 2019, Formula One teams split a pot of over one billion U.S. dollars - an increase of 99 million U.S. dollars compared to the previous year. This increase is, in part, due to the increase in the group's revenue in 2019.
