Cancer deaths in Cuba 2022, by type

In 2022, there were nearly 27,000 deaths related to cancer in Cuba. The type of cancer that caused the highest number of deaths in the Caribbean nation was trachea, bronchus, and lung cancer, with more than 5,000 deaths reported that year. Prostate and bowel cancer ranked second and third, with approximately 4,000 deaths and 2,710 fatalities, respectively. That year, cancer was one of the leading causes of death in Cuba.
