Cash was the main dominant payment method in Egypt, as of 2022, with 57 percent of online purchases being paid through this method. Moreover, 22 percent of online retail payments were done with cards, while 14 percent were paid through wallets. As of the same date, banking intermediaries were used for seven percent of purchases done online, while the remaining one percent were attributed to other payment methods.
