In 2022, a total of 130 people were newly diagnosed with HIV in Cuba, a decrease of approximately 47 percent compared to the number of HIV cases reported a year earlier. During the period analyzed, the incidence of HIV in the Caribbean nation peaked at 1,479 new cases in 2019. As of 2021, Brazil reported the highest number of people living with HIV in the Latin American region.
