Incidents of hate crimes in India 2015-2019 by victim identity

Each incident of an alleged hate crime is categorized to reflect its location (including the district), the age and gender of the victim, the nature of the crime, and the identity of the victim, among other details. The data is available for download under the ‘Data’ section of the website for public use.

The incidents reported are not meant to provide a comprehensive picture of all alleged hate crimes that may have occurred since September 2015. Instead, the project aims to provide an insight into the depth and breadth of the problem, as it relies on secondary media sources. Each incident listed is based on media sources, hence, some details may vary across different reports.
